Inspired Snippet #006 – I Spoke Negativity Into My Future

How is the tongue a very small organ yet can do much? What effect does the tongue have over my life? The Bible says that the heart is evil, from it comes slander, jeer and scorn. But what organ effects what is in the heart? I have cared less in the past. I cared less about anyone’s feelings. I said anything anywhere, whatever pleased me and I spoke things that bewildered me later.

The same tongue is used to worship, in prayer, in preaching, in evangelism, in speaking words of wisdom and kind etc. It is also the same organ that is used in abuse, blasphemy, scorn, hate, incitement, propaganda etc. It is simply a tool that can positively impact lives or destroy them. In despair, pain, anger and bitterness, I have spoke negative things over my life. I have said things like, ‘I can never be that good’ ‘I will never help him again’ ‘Am tired with life’ ‘Am just stupid most times’ ‘Life is just unfair’ etc. I never knew the evil one takes these and binds them into dark knots in the heavenly realms. I never knew that whatever I testified against myself all came back to me, now with vehemence.

So then, what do you do after the damage is done? Ask God to tame your tongue. Ask Him to renew your mindset and give you the mindset of Christ. Since the heart is deceitful among other things, let Christ in and let Him tame your thoughts. Through the strength from God, strive not to speak ill against your future. We are awaiting a new year, speak what is noble, right and pure in your life.

I describe myself as simple yet complex, difficult to fathom and a hard nut to crack. I am made of unfailing love, one that sails my boat and oversees my flaws, one that binds me not on any law but nourishes my soul. I write from my soul, generally anything I feel I need to get off my chest most of which is based on my own life experiences, talents, and passions.
