It hurts me when I see very talented fellows wasting away, accumulating dust on their God-greased gears making them immovable, paralyzed by mostly what is in their surrounding.
An incredible singer would rather fill their Instagram with memes rather than covers or original works of their art – They forget that they inspire lots to be better people, the same who rot in their talents.
A painter will complain they do not have the tools and will just wait for the day they will acquire them to start working.
A performer will say they need a bigger stage to do their art. They are always waiting for that BIGGER stage. How will they do bigger things with a smaller mind on a bigger stage?
A whole other lot will fear to start, They will fear criticism, they will fear of what people they will say about them and they will be modest in something they haven’t even started.
Then we have this other BIG lot who are always starting. They have dates on when to start, they have numerology of when is the perfect date, say 1st April is good because it perfectly starts the month. Sadly they are always starting.
Lastly we have this other humongous lot who keep asking you how you started. They will keep questioning and commending you of the good work you do and will always tell you that there is something they do but have not put much effort in them. And they are always trying (Damn! I hate trying, I do)
These are the same people who will read this post, get so much challenged and make new resolutions on when to start. They will mostly post powerful comments about how inspiring the post is and how challenged they are. As times fades, the contents fade a way and becomes less important.
A big difference with these type of people (the reactive ones) and those that this post doesn’t address (those who really work on their talent – the proactive ones) is that the reactive ones always feel attacked when something is talked about them. They shift attention from the content to the writer and in all ways they will question things like, ‘Where has this writer gone in life?’ ‘Who is they to dictate what I do and what I don’t?’ On the contrary the proactive ones will feel more challenged though the post talks not about them. This is because they feel they are not there yet and are not doing enough. Tip – People who work on their talent are NEVER comfortable. They keep making themselves better – an infinite loop in being better than yesterday.
Movies, music, politics, negative energy from others and noises from the world has made us forget who we are. We always live the life of ‘WE’ the life that makes us want to fit in. The same life that makes us want to please everyone and have no say in our lives. We always flow with the current, we always want to be associated with others, a ‘someone’ forgetting that they never slept nor sleep on their talent(s) like us.
We forget what we ought to do and we are reduced to just but spectators, an audience rich in applauding others; always on celebrities social platforms checking out their lives and wishing to be like them. Our world has been reduced to merely adoring and feeling jealous about others and we have to spend a dime to fit into that world. A person enjoying the fruits of his talent is disguised as the ‘the way the rich and the elite live’ and ‘this is how to roll’ and so to me, an average person sleeping on my talent will stretch on all sides of my budget to show the world that I can be also dumb and live like those who experienced heart-breaking obstacles before they triumphed.
Stop wishing to be someone else, you will be demeaning God’s only creature which is you.
