Ken Bahati – Walking in The Spirit

Another Bible study it is and this was the best day of my life. Being a July baby and receiving a gift from Kkrew was amazing. His name was Ken Bahati. He looked young and was full of the spirit. His talk was melodious and full of spiritual content. He was a reader of the word, evident in the quotes he made from the Bible.

Quoting from Galatians 4:6

6 Because you are his sons, God sent the Spirit of his Son into our hearts, the Spirit who calls out, “Abba, Father.”

Gen 1:26-27

26 Then God said, “Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals,[a] and over all the creatures that move along the ground.”

27 So God created mankind in his own image,
    in the image of God he created them;
male and female he created them.

Ken says of how God created us in His own image and likeness. He explains why we are like God. He gives an example of a dog. A dog is called a dog because it is made by the image and form of a dog, but we are beings made from God’s image and that makes us no ordinary persons.

He continues by quoting Genesis 2:7

And the Lord God formed man of the dust of the ground, and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life; and man became a living being.

Ken continues to explain how man formed man from the ground. He said that God created man in His own image first and just formed the body from the soil. So our flesh are from the ground but our spirit is God’s made in His own likeness and image. He further states that we don’t see with our eyes but we see through our eyes. Our spirit sees but not our organs. He explains this by saying that a dead person with eyes cannot see because the spirit person is no longer in the body.

He continues to Gen 5:2

Male and female he created them, and he blessed them and named them Man when they were created.

Ken says that there is no gender in the spirit and we should not be amazed that he called them ‘Man’ so the females should not be left out when the bible quotes ‘sons of God’

He says that the word human is derived from 2 words humus meaning dirt and Man the name God gave us. The word female two comes from 2 words, foetus and male. He says that a fe-male is any male that can carry a child and confirms that a female is meant for a man.

1st Thessalonians 5:23

23 Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.

He explains that we are a spirit, with a soul in a body. He says that we should never say something like “My spirit is grieved.” He says that this is wrong, we should instead say “I am grieved”

Colossians 1:19

19 For God was pleased to have all his fullness dwell in him,

Colossians 2:9

For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form, 10 and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.

Ken says that we have been given fullness in Christ.

1 John 2:27

27 As for you, the anointing you received from him remains in you, and you do not need anyone to teach you. But as his anointing teaches you about all things and as that anointing is real, not counterfeit—just as it has taught you, remain in him.

Romans 12:1-2

12 Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God—this is your true and proper worship. Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.

Ken tells us that our souls are composed of the mind, will and emotions. He tells us that God cannot tell us to resent our spirits because our spirits are His but he wants us to present our weak bodies instead.

Ephesians 4:24

24 and to put on the new self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.

Acts 1:8

But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth.”

Ken told us that so long as we have accepted Jesus as our personal savior we are holy and righteous. He gives the example of Peter who denied Jesus 3 times but when he was filled with holiness he died for him.

Romans 8:26

26 In the same way, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us through wordless groans.

He told us that though our flesh is weak and the SPIRIT helps us in our weakness even though we don’t know what we ought to pray for.

He finished by quoting John 4:24 that says

24 God is spirit, and his worshipers must worship in the Spirit and in truth.”

This adds up that the SPIRIT of God helps us in our weakness and we must worship God in TRUTH and in SPIRIT.

I describe myself as simple yet complex, difficult to fathom and a hard nut to crack. I am made of unfailing love, one that sails my boat and oversees my flaws, one that binds me not on any law but nourishes my soul. I write from my soul, generally anything I feel I need to get off my chest most of which is based on my own life experiences, talents, and passions.
